Inaugural Asian Monetary Policy Forum 2014
The AMPF is loosely modelled after the highly successful US Monetary Policy Forum, which meets annually in New York. The AMPF is organised under the auspices of the ABFER, with support from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, the National University of Singapore Business School, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
The day-long programme for the AMPF will commence with a commissioned paper by Professor Maurice Obstfeld of the University of California, Berkeley on the topic of “Trilemmas and Trade-offs” in the international monetary system. This will be followed by an open discussion and a lunchtime panel discussion with Mr Masaaki Shirakawa (former Governor of the Bank of Japan) and Dr Duvvuri Subbarao (former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India), moderated by Dr. Alan Bollard (Executive Director, APEC and former Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand). The afternoon programme consists of two sessions devoted to regional economic developments and policy issues.
